Professional Brazilian Dancer Taciano Cavalcante will be in town running the session and here's a bit more information about him:
ZUMBA
AKA Coconut Funksta!!! Taciano was born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. He has always been exposed to and loved music and dance from his youngest years. He has been an active member of the Australian dance and cultural industries for 17 years. ZUMBA came along and it was the perfect match between his passion for athletic style workouts and the creativity and expression of dance.
Taciano has experience as a party DJ and musician in Brazilian funk bands and Carnival drumming has provided him with vital experience in the delicate art of GETTING THIS PARTY STARTED and it starts with the music!!! FEEL IT baby!!! Latin Caribbean moves are sensual by intention. In his classes Taciano encourages everyone to connect with their inner Latino selves and GET DOWN!
Taciano is currently the creative director of “Lets Get Tropical” PTY LTD themed events & entertainment, ZUMBA instructor, DJ, MC, and percussionist. He also conceived and now oversees the “Latin Quarter” Australia longest running Brazilian night based in Perth.
Education Taciano undertook a three-year fulltime mentorship with international dance artist Rebbecca Youdell where he gained a classical education in dance and broader arts philosophy. In 1998 he furthered his studies in dance and performance, at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Edith Cowan University.

Australian Dance Industry Taciano represented Queensland as a finalist in the Young Australian of the Year Awards for contributions to the arts. Selected as the Queensland representative for the inaugural Australian Youth Dance Festival…. SBS featured his professional and personal life in a thirty-minute documentary that was rerun five times throughout the year and featured on NYE Best of 2000. He has also received six government grants to develop professionally as an artist, also towards creating community dance projects and the provision of dance and arts to regional Australia.
